With Valentines Day here we have used it as an excuse to make these delicious homemade heart tartlets. They are the perfect sweet tea time treat filled with love.


Plain Flour 225g

Potato Flour 60g

Caster Sugar 100g

Salted Butter 200g

Raspberry Jam 100ml

Baking Powder 1 tablespoon

1 Vanilla Pod

1 Egg


In a bowl, combine the plain flour, potato flour, sugar, baking powder and add a pinch of salt. Then slice the vanilla pod and scrape out the seeds, adding to your mixture.


Beat your egg and then pour half of this into your flour mixture. Cut your salted butter into small squares, then using your hands combine everything together in your bowl, creating a doughy substance. Refrigerate for one hour.


Place the dough between sheets of baking parchment and roll out until 1 cm thick. Peal off the top layer and cut out hearts with a 5 cm cookie cutter. Place half of your hearts onto a lined baking tray, then cut smaller hearts out of the remaining half.


Take the shapes with the holes and paint them with egg on the underside. Press onto the whole heart shapes, fill the holes with raspberry jam.  Brush with the remaining egg.


Bake in the oven for 10 minutes until they have a crumbly golden texture. Allow to cool for 15 minutes, then enjoy!
